Today we are going to visit a plantation……. Mum's idea (all of Mum's ideas have been great so far, so I won't protest!). Since we're here Mum would like to visit a plantation around New Orleans. We chose Oak Alley Plantation, and it was beautiful. At the front, a canopy of massive dark oak trees, hundreds of years old, were very enchanting. At the end of the canopy was a great, big, spectacular, mansion (well, my definition of a mansion). On one side of the Mansion were lush green gardens, at the front and back, large oak trees, and on the other side was a cemetery where the last owners of the plantation were buried.
We took a tour of the Mansion and our tour guide was brilliant at explaining everything
We got on the road and headed for Pensacola, Florida. Along the way we went over Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, the longest bridge in the world when going over water measuring 23.87 miles (38.42 km) long. Later on I slept (again) and only woke up when we reached our final destination, a beachy sort of place at Pensacola.
Can't wait to see the view in the morning! …….the ocean! :D
