I woke up to the sound of cars, toy guns and people talking……..oh yeah, we're at the Schaefers. Mum was talking to Pastor Mark, Dad had to take the RV down for a service….(Winnie was been stubborn again) and all of us kids went to have a early morning bounce on the trampoline……all wearing layers of socks to keep our feet warm. Mark had baked a delicious quiche for breakfast, which was tasty as.
The morning was taken up by a routine of trampoline jumping, wii playing, shooting with toy guns (their guns over here are awesome)(one point on guns, lots of people over here in Texas are allowed to to carry guns legally. I sort of got a bit freaked out at that point!) and having fun. Lunch was a good old salad & ham sandwich, although, I tried out (after protesting) a peanut butter and jelly sandwich….never tried it before, and I have to admit, it wasn't that bad, in fact, I think Australia should start eating peanut butter & jelly sandwiches…ok Grace, get back on track
After having spent 24 hours at the Schaefers (and a fantastic day it was!), it was time to go. Our next major stop is New Orleans. It's waaayyy too far drive tonight so we're just going to stop in Stonewall. On the way we had a few problems with Dad, His night vision. We got stopped by the cops for Dad's driving…….he couldn't make out the exit up ahead….and ended up missing the exit. Not good. Second, Dad tried to turn on an intersection but couldn't see the right lane….and went too far to the wrong side of the road, ready for a head on. Thankfully all the people on the intersection weren't in a hurry, and realised that we were tourists (they also probably guessed that we were from Downunder as well!). Dad's driving is improving, he's doing a great job I think (considering he has never driven on the wrong side of the road). We safely got out of the muck. We looked for a place to stay….. I fell asleep (I was absolutely stuffed), so I don't really know what went on…I asked Mum in the morning if there had been any dramatic scenes or courageous heroes but sadly, none
(Just want to point out, over here in America we have a Pastor Mark, and his wife is Lisa and Lisa's sister is Sarah…..now back in Oz our Pastor's name is Mark and he also has a wife named Lisa and they have a daughter named Sarah….) :) just something to point out :)
Thank you soooooooo much to the Schaefer family, Mark, Lisa, Matthew, and Nathan for letting us stay at your house……can get a bit hectic with 9 kids and 4 adults…thank you heaps. :)
