After a massive sleep in on Thursday (and having peanut butter and bread for breakfast - Yuck!)  (and feeding the ducks - Chloe was concentrating  so much on feeding them that she fell in - glad it wasn't me!) we decided to get our  rears-into-gear. We were planning to spend the day and night at Santee Lakes, San Diego. Our plan for that day had been to get organised and go shopping for a mobile phone, food, any warm clothes, and supplies. It was about 3:00 pm before we actually got shopping. After taking hours to buy the mobile we headed to the shopping centre,it was called Costo, a wholesale warehouse (massive, massive, and more MASSIVE!). Really great place, had everything in bulk (good for our family) so we stocked up on all that we needed.

Dad also had his first experience on driving on the wrong side of the road and actually wasn't that bad, I mean there were times when it got scary like when he forgot he was in America and nearly turned into the wrong side of the road or when he forgot he was a long vehicle (10 m) and turned a tight corner and bumped on to the curve, apart from that (and a few other incidents) he was pretty good at driving.

Anyway, apart from the driving business we bought everything we needed and headed for home, wait, I forgot something, o yes dinner. And Lunch . For lunch we went to this fast food place called Weinerschnitzel - it was ok, but seriously it could of been better. For dinner we stopped and had fast-food for the second time that day! (What!?, it wasn't our fault, we hadn't gone shopping yet and the cupboard was empty!) and had hotdogs and pizza, and whoah, you should of seen the size of their pizza, it was 18" diameter….that's 45cm diameter (I think)……That's !!!!! GINORMOUS !!!! I mean for a pizza, that's pretty huge. And the paper towel was double the size of ours in Oz, and to add, Costo Sells cake….huge cakes all decorated with icing and so on for $17.00 something like that would cost around $40-$50 over in Australia.

Just talking about food is making me hungry…….better go!

Grace you are right! EVERYTHING at Costco is huge including their shopping trolleys! You must have taken out a membership because I couldn't buy there unless I was with your Uncle Sauli. xx

sounds like you are having fun. but I have to say tsk tsk for using the word is not a word...and I was told not to let my year three students get away with it when I was on Prac. It's either gigantic or enormous. sorry that's my teacherness coming through. But here is my cousin side: I wish I was there to see it all with you but I love seeing the photos and reading yours and your mum's blogs! All your pets are well, Tara hasn't had her babies yet. I'm hoping for them to arrive on Christmas day so we can name the babies within the Christmas theme.
Lots of love
