Well this blogging idea isn't starting so well.  I wrote an entire entry in the last 15 minutes or so, and it was deleted.  You have to love (and HATE) technology!  So I begin again...

First a little background for those of you that aren't aware of the evolution of this trip.  My roommate, Cory, and I have been planning a trip around the world after we graduate for a number of years.  It started out as a bit of a fantasy, similar to our fantasy to be the first Black/White team on the Amazing Race, but has slowly morphed into reality.  We are both graduating from the University of Texas on May 23, 2009.  We start our adventure on May 24th!

I've done some blogging in the commercial real estate world (you can check it out here if you like), and thought it would be great to blog our trip.  I hope that friends and relatives can check in to see what we're up to, but I also hope to give some good advice to future travelers looking at going to the places Cory and I visit.

So are trip has been "set in stone" for about a month now, meaning that we have bought our tickets.  Naturally we will be traveling to other places in and around these cities, but for those of you that don't know, here is our itinerary:  Houston, Texas - London, England - Cairo, Egypt - Amman, Jordan - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - New Delhi, India - Bangkok, Thailand - Hanoi, Vietnam - Beijing, China - San Fransisco, California - Houston, Texas.  As I said, we depart Houston on May 24th and return on July 15th.  If anyone has any advice for these places/countries, please give it to us.  We aren't running a very set itinerary, and plan to just take things as they come (other than when our flights leave from particular countries of course).

In the mean time (between now and May 24th) I plan to blog a bit about our preparations.  I'll also be very busy wrapping up my commercial real estate work, taking/studying for final exams, and packing up the townhouse we live in so the blog entries may not come too frequently at this point.

I hope you all enjoy!
