Carolyn developed a cold overnight. She decided to sleep late and missed the tour of Rudesheim. The Big Baby. She asked me to do three things for her: take pictures, buy postcards and get stamps at the post office. I could only accomplish buying postcards as I couldn't find a post office and I dropped her camera causing it to temporarily break.
We went to the Siegfried Musical Machine Museum which was actually fascinating. We rode a little train to get there. Afther the tour of the Museum we went to a restaurant in Rudesheim and they served us complementary coffee...Rudesheim coffee. "You put the 'suga' in with the brandy and then light it on fire. Then you pour coffee, whip cream and dark chocolate on top. Outstanding.
We then took a trip down the Rhine which was the most spectacular part of the whole trip. So many castles, absolutely beautiful. They said that last week it was 80 degrees and today it was 32...too cold to stay on deck.
We ended the day in Koblenz. We had a free night and found a restaurant where we had sausage, mashed potatoes and sauer kraut.
Oh yeah, the man at the coffee house explained to us that "life is too short to drink the lesser wine so it is better to drink one bottle of expensive wine than 2 bottles of lesser wine".
We are still thinking about that one.
