Bangkok is a fun city!  First day we went on a half day tour.  Saw some great temples (Wat Arun) and rode on Chaophaya river.  Pratulam street shopping is amazing and it was near the hotel we stayed but Chatuchak weekend market we went on Sunday takes the cake - fake watches, pet dogs, exotic food, books, furnishing, t-shirts, jeans etc. are available at dirt cheap prices.  Quality is uncertain but it is fun to haggle and get a bargain...

On Sunday night we went to Ladyboy Show and did not know what to expect.  I must say that these Ladyboys look pretty...

On Monday we went to Ayutthaya, world heritage city and ancient capital of Thailand.  Healthy dose of temples, palace and ruins.  Amazing place about 1 hour drive away - definitely worth going...

I'm happy to see that you made it into Bangkok after the airport closure, and can see the neat things in this city. Our Thai exchange student was embarrassed to see some things he has never visited in his own city :-). Best wishes.
