So, our flights were uneventful and our luggage arrived the same time we did. Our drive met us at the airport exit and it was a short drive to the Imperial Adamas Resort. We were able to check in and get to our room immediately (at 10am) and also they upgraded us to a pool side room which was a pleasant surprise.

The room is lovely with a nice terrace outside with 2 lovely lounge chairs....after the long flights it felt dreamy to lie back on one, close my eyes, feel the warm morning breeze, and listen to the birds singing. This is how every February should be like! We sort of unpacked a bit and took a quick dip in the pool then after a while took a walk down to the beach to explore the grounds.

We ended up at the Terrace restaurant and showed them the magic piece of paper that was our meal ticket for the all-inclusive program we had bought. The staff are very attentive and soon everyone knew us as Rm211. The idea when we booked this place was that it would be quiet and we would not need to figure out where to eat or how much it would cost. It has turned out this place works very well for our needs. The resort is down a side road to a beach on its own. There does not appear to be many guests around. I think they are struggling with their identity and the tourist market Thailand is known for.

I suspect the majority of tourists that come to Thailand are looking for a lively experience. This resort is struggling to provide that because it is miles from the nearest commercial district with restaurants and bars. Also the tide goes way out here so i don't imagine the swimming is very good at the beach. It is a perfect spot to get away and relax for a few days, which is what we were looking for after our long flights and time change.

The time change has made our sleeping habits a bit haphazard. I have been here for two days now and both days I ended up sleeping from mid-afternoon until 6-7pm. We have our dinner and then go to bed around midnight. The first night slept until a little after 3 and last night woke up around 4:30. I imagine the pattern will sort itself out or will it? I can tell you that afternoon nap feels pretty good!

Hey Chris and Paula
Thanks to Randy he provided me with this log to your current travels. WOW! It must be a great trip and feeling to be on the loose.. Chris I sent you and the boy's a golf joke and when I received your auto "extended absence" message I went geez - I hope the old fart is ok. Randy assured me you were fine and just making official what you've been doing for years relaxing ;)

Seriously, glad to hear you both are well. Annette just hit 60 and myself at 63 we have to keep checking in on our age set... one never knows. We are presently in BC (new grandson last October) so were both vacationing and babysitting (love it). Spending a month with visits to Kelowna here in Osoyoos (golf course on site and open) and moving up to Kelowna next Friday for the second month. Someone mentioned a snow storm back home - what is that exactly at my age I forget!

Well, take care and have a blast will look forward to reading your entries and exploits while traveling...

Cheers.. an old buddy - Keith

Good to hear from your Keith and glad to know you avoided that storm as seniors may not move as fast as we once did but we make up for it through cunning and deception!
Enjoy BC and hope to catch you on the links this summer for a round or two.
