We started off our morning in prague with a lovely hostel style breakfast and then headed off to the train station to book our Budapest train. We got 2 beds in a six person couchette which should be hinteresting and then we went back to the old square to get a free walking tour of Prague. We had some time before the walking tour so we grabbed gelato (not great) I got pooped on by a bird, and hung around waiting for the tour guide. Once we realized we were in the wrong place, we scurried over to the right place and set off. About 10 minutes into the tour, the skys OPENED. within about 3 minutes we were all soaked. Alison left her umbrella and rain jacket at the hostel and Meliss and I just had hoodies on, so needless to say, we were rather wet. The historical information given on the tour was great, she really told us a lot, but it was hard to really understand because the rain was making it difficult to look up at the buildings she was talking about. We heard all about how they had defenestration's where they essentially got mad at the church and threw some preists and bishops out the windows. We got some conflicting stories about how Prague got bombed during the war, some people said that the US did it on accident, but our tour guide said the Nazi's did it after Hitler's death while they were trying to flee through Prague and the Czech's wouldn't let them through (have to research that one).. We also went through the Jewish quarter which remains completely intact from before the war becasue Hitler was saving it to be a museum of an extinct race.

After the tour we tried to dry off a bit and met Jess and Rachel for dinner. We had plans to go out to some club for the night, but noone ended up going because it was still pouring well into the night.

Yesterday we checked out of the hostel and took the tram up to the castle. We first got on the wrong way and ended up in a pretty gloomy section of Prague, but once we got back the other way we were set. I bought a cardigan at H and M because my hoodie was still sopping wet and we toured the castle, making our way down across the Charles Bridge. It was so packed with tourists it was extremely annoying. We had lunch, goulash and pasta, found Alison's uncle and grandfather at their hotel walked around with them for a little and then seperated. Mel and I got our bags from the hostel and were planning on meeting up with them again but of course my phone HATES Prague and just randomly decides it will have no service. So we didn't meet up with anyone, but grabbed dinner and headed to the train station.

When we got on our  train, the people we were ment in the couchette with apparently had paid to only have a four person one, but that wasn't really an option so we got stuck in their anyway. They spoke maybe 10 words of english and we spoke about 10 words of Spanish, so it was an interesting game of charades decifering what we were trying to do. Mel and I ended up on the top bunks which worked out well, except they were pretty hard surfaces to sleep on. It was way better then the awkward stretch out chairs that I'm too small for anyway! But now we are in Budapest, about to go to walk around and check out a bath!
