Security at JFK was a bit stronger than I remember it being last time I flew, and my hood was felt for any hidden things but it didn't take too long to get through. Some people were just absolute jerks about it and were giving the flight attendants problems for asking for their boarding pass after we went through the gates. My case was 6 pounds over, but pens from Yer Man's saved me from paying the fee.
The flight was long, but I slept pretty much the entire way, a fact that my neck finds it important to remind me quite often. After getting off the plane and attempting to go through immigration i was asked to sit on the side and wait until the end (the looks i got!) but after everyone went through, my papers were approved and i was given one month to go to the guarda in Cork and declare myself. My aunt was waiting for me outside with my cousin (apparently they had been there since 4:30! which was crazy being that its a 3 hour drive from their house),
Made it back to their house in about 3 hours and had potato waffles (which are really just a extra large waffle fry, not a breakfast waffle). I was pretty loopy all day but saw my cousins, and even my uncle patrick. (who doesn't live in this house). I took a nap, just hung out with everyone here, and after dinner went to play pool with my cousin Sheila. Some guy came up to the car thinking that I was one of Sheila's friends that he knows and was quite surprised to find that i was not. The pool table was tiny and there were yellow and red balls instead of stripes and solids. I did terrible but with help from Sheila's friend Bari (?) I somehow managed to win!
I had about 9 cups of tea in the 24 hours I've been here.
Thats pretty much all the excitement here! Talk to you later!
