Hey everyone -
Today was another great day. We slept in and docked in Ketchikan around 2:00 in the afternoon. Tony and I have taken to sitting out on the fantail of the ship when it sails. It is so nice, the sun is out, we see whales and beautiful scenery. We are having a really great time.
We went into town and did a little shopping (actually, I did the shopping while Tony sat outside. Funny how all those shops had benches outside with men sitting on them!). We then boarded a bus for a brief tour of the city and then went to a totem pole park. It was neat to see all of the Tlingit and Haida totems and hear about their stories and history. We are now back on the ship, having just eaten dinner. Last night we sat with 2 of the cutist couples. One couple was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, and the other their 54th. They were both from Pennsylvania and I was the only one sitting at the table that wasn't from PA and wasn't Italian!. It was quite funny to see Tony sitting there with those two Italian fellas. He was actually quite chatty for a change. It was also formal night and we got all dressed up and had our pictures taken. I will have to put that on here as welll when we get back. We are headed out to sea tonight and will be at sea until we dock in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada Sunday morning. Talk to you all when we get back!
