Day 66 Skagway - Teslin Lake.
This morning we a little sleep in until 8am (yeah right sleep in some say!) the plane trip over the glacier National park was booked for 10:30am.
We arrived in plenty of time to wait for the pilot to fly in from Haines, he arrives, loads us up and away we go.
I am sure the pictures taken will not at all do justice to the views we had on this ride.
The perspective of flying over some of these glaciers and mountains is very hard to describe. The soaking up of the splendour of the mountains and the huge packs of ice grinding towards the water as well as observing a cruise liner nosing itself towards the glaciers was storybook stuff.
Certainly it gave us an idea on what you don't see by taking a cruise ship into this region
The trip was smooth and from our experience of Skagway a nice day to take the flight, it was partially cloudy but clear for good views and a smooth flight.
We arrived back and had a bite to eat and set off back to Canada, heading towards the park we are in tonight.
We pull up obtain our site and head off to the facilities to be greeted by Robert and Carol, the Canadians we had meet in Whitehorse a couple of weeks back, how small is this RV world of travelling in Alaska and Canada. Robert informed us his friends were arriving shortly to take up the site next in the line.
I am sure after we have all eaten and checked out the net we will catch up with these people and share some travel stories again.
So here we are still alive and still finding wonderful ways to enjoy being on our journey.
