Day 62 Denali to Tok
The rain has caught up with us and it is not light nor warm. Never mind we began early and rolled the castle out and headed north to Fairbanks.
The road was ok and we made good time, the rain didn't let up and the terrain was similar to what we had experienced yesterday in Denali.
We arrived in at Fairbanks and drove around a confusing one way system, not made easy with the rain continuing to fall.
We decided that this wasn't a place to be, filled with gas and found the road to North Pole.
This was a must see place, Karon had made NO secret about her desires to visit North Pole and visit Santa Clause and Mrs Clause at their very own house in North Pole
We pulled in to the wonderful house and entered Santa's Wonderland.
Santa and Mrs Clause were there as can be can seen from the photos of Nan and Pop, sitting with them and explaining to them about the Wonderful special Grandchildren they share.
We all checked Santa's good kid's list:
We found these names;
Byran, Mitchell, Jarrod, Emily, Santina, Jasper, Catherine, Ethan, William, Damon, Zara, Ella, Hayley, Jennifer, Malaki, Jessica, Thomas(Beasley) and many more we cannot remember at the moment, but I am sure yours is there, Santa's good list is updated regularly and he assured us that all the good kids we all know are on the list.
Danial we checked with Santa for you, and it is correct about when you receive the milkshake mixer, it means you are then taken off the list, any presents left after the milkshake mixer are by mistake and should be returned! Maybe you should let your cousins know about this again.
The Reindeer are happily resting and eating out the back of Santa's house and I believe listened to us when we told them the address's of all the great kids we know back home in Australia
We lunched at Santa's house outside in our Castle and then headed off towards Tok. (Interesting how it has received this name, It was once called Tokyo Junction, but after the advent of the 2nd world war the locals felt it best to shorten the name to avoid any "bad feelings")
We drove into Tok at around 6 pm, checked in and received free tickets to a live show.
We quickly feed ourselves and made our way to the backroom for the music.
The performers were local singer/ songwriters, we enjoyed the local songs about Alaska and other old favourites. It was a great hour and half of hearing the people sing and share stories about the area and themselves.
Then retire to put the heater on to warm the castle, the rain is still around and a little cool, the heater certainly works well and within about 15 mins the Castle is a toasty place to be, and the heater is turned off.
Settle and catch up with the blog as well as watch a documentary about bears in the Katmai of all things to have come on the television, a place we have just left.
Life is a wonderful Journey, and we are enjoying this experience everyday.
