Day 56 Anchorage Rest and recreation day
Entry 67 of 205 | show all | print this entry |
Day 56 Anchorage Rest and recreation Today was a sleep in day after another late night. We went up town and into the shopping centre and the boys had to grow extreme patience to withstand the time spent, although I believe Earnie gets first prize for that particular task today. He not only had to wait for the girls spending time in "Penny's" women's dept, he had to contend with Rick attempting to sort out the IT problems with the internet provider and also as Rick worked his way through the challenges built up in the computer over the last period of time while they were sitting in the food court in the shopping centre. Well done Earnie! The boys packed up the computer stuff after a good length of time to go find the girls, a meeting ensued where the girls chose to spend MORE time in the shopping centre, Rick disappeared back up to the internet provider store to spend MORE time, by this stage Earnie chose to head back to the Castle and read his book probably a good option. Karon, Marian and Rick meet up again, this time the girls had exhausted the turn in the shops. Home we trundle, a small down time and Earnie and the girls opted to take in the dog sled show. Rick took time out to rest his eyes and finish attempting to complete the IT clean up. Gee it worked he managed to find out that the Mighty Maroons were again successful to prove seniority in the State of Origan. GEE three years in a row! What is the world coming too? The dog sled show was reported as good and a dinner of Halibut, chips and salad in the evening of warm sun was enough to complete the day. We remind our loyal followers, the trip to Brooks Falls to see the bears up close and personal is over the next three days. We are unsure if the Bears have negotiated with a good internet provider to allow us access to keep you all up to date. We will be back online on the evening of the 5th (our time) to report back in, so do not fear any missing persons will be reported in at that stage of the journey.

Hello Rick & Co!
I've been having fun keeping up with your journeys and am so glad you're having fun experiencing the grand ole US of A. I hope you have fun celebrating our nation's birthday today and I don't think the government will mind that I've granted you all honorary American status today. Go forth and celebrate with abandon like all your fellow patriots!
Take care and l... show all
