Day 54 Anchorage Alaska.

Well after an interesting sleep next to the train line (mind you Earnie didn't hear the three trains during the night!
We used this morning to clean and shift stuff and gear around in the castle, as well as catch up with the washing.
A good mornings work, also in preparation for our 4th travellers arrival tonight.
We spoke with Marian this morning after she had arrived in LA, she was unable to catch the earlier flight to Anchorage and it was suggested she do a "red Bus" tour of LA to fill in the day.
The Three travellers then walked to a free shuttle bus to take us into town, it was a short pleasant walk and we were in town from the bus within half an hour.
Found a lunch spot and had a nice lunch then picked up an hour trolley bus of the city.
A rundown of a bit of the history as well as about the earthquake that hit here in 1964, a run past the float plane capitol of the world, I doubt anyone has seen as many float planes lined up in one place other than here. Also many small Cessna's for sale.
We hopped off the trolley at the visitors centre, and wandered into the shopping mall. A short time of this was enough for the boys, it was decided for them to head back to the Castle and organise a car rental for the next few days to give us mobility as well as the ability to pick Marian up at 1:30am at the airport.
This task was achieved after making inquiries at Enterprise care hire and Budget, Budget won the deal by around $100 cheaper, certainly suits Earnie and Rick!
Karon appeared happy to be left to her own devices for a few hours in the centre of town in a shopping mall; the boys having achieved their task await her return!
No photos taken today it really is a small city centre and no real photos stand out to make it distinctive. It is the start point of the Iditaford race and has a training centre and dog sled show twice a day given by a prior winner of the race and some young people that look after and assist in training the dogs for this race.
So the next update from the travellers three will be from the Travellers' four as Marian has managed to make it to catch up. We have a couple of days around this area before catching the plane trip to Brooks Falls for the "bear experience" so we will keep you informed.
