Day 47 Yukon Canada
We left on time from Stewart, the drive out was uneventful, with no bear sightings but plenty of calling cards they left alongside the road. The terminology is either "scat" or "Bear poo" depending on who you ask!
We had a quick stop at the road side glacier to have another look, as well the perspective returning along the road we went into Stewart on, gave a different look at the waterfalls and mountains.
The route 37 north is paved with blacktop 90% of the way, generally the blacktop became narrow with a fair amount of "bouncy bits" that required repairs. The little roadside signs give warning when you are about to hit a "bouncy/bumpy" bit, they came at regular intervals. There are no roads leading off this to tempt us to take a side trip, so we guess we are not missing anything of significance, but I am sure the lakes and rivers would provide sport fishing, if we chose to experience that at this time.
We did observe a black bear on an early stretch of this road as it went across the road in front of us.
The scenery was Trees with fast flowing rivers interspersed with lakes, of different colours, from grey/brown to green/blue.
Often it is easy to recognise the Canada we know from the picture books.
We struck rain as we approached the final leg of our journey and are now in an RV park in Watsons Lake, Yukon Territory on the Alaskan highway, or Alcan highway. It is amazing to be visiting and staying in places we have only before heard or read about, it again reminds us of the dream we are living and the journey we are taking, how fortunate are we?
We are heading northwest tomorrow towards Alaska
