Day 43 Washington State
Today we woke to an overcast day and a little chilly, not too bad.
Time to have the Castle Serviced, First booking we could obtain was for Friday, not really suitable, but we took the booking because we didn't want to take on the trip to Anchorage without a service.
Earnie looked at the map going forward and suggested attempting to find another service centre,
We found one that was very helpful but couldn't assist us because the Castle was too big for them, the service manager gave us a name and number of a place in Bellingham to call, doing so, we were able to convince the Service manager at that place, to fit us in today, we packed up quickly and off we roll.
No problems to find the service centre and had a cab booked to take us into the town centre for a wander around
It was a very productive "wander" Rick found a very helpful information young lady (Lindsey) who assisted us with maps and directions to the post office(Earnie had some stuff he wanted posted) and Rick wanted to get some more stuff printed and sent as well and for some reason Karon reckoned she required her hair done.
Earnie and Karon went to the Post Office and Rick went back to the information centre to attempt to have his documents printed as well as find a quiet place to work with the computer.
Unable to have his stuff printed, but Earnie had success at the PO, we were given directions to a "Kinkos" on the way, we found a hairdresser that Karon disappeared into, and Rick & Earnie went to the print shop.
Printing done and off to the PO (2nd trip for Earnie) but on the way popped our heads into the hairdresser to annoy Karon, (just because we could)
Finally after walking the distance between the PO and hairdresser etc a couple of times, the documents were sent and completed and Karon came out of the hairdresser looking pretty damned good, as well as feeling happy with the results.
Lunch and a wander through the shops looking for some winter gear/clothing
The service guy rang to say the Castle was ready to go, so another cab and away we go.
Pay for the service, reprogram Mandy and off we set to our present position, Another KOA RV park in a small town called Lynden, about 12 miles to the USA/Canadian border, set in a beautiful setting with lakes, grass, sealed level sites and great facilities, including mini golf, paddle boats for the lake and lovely sites dotted amongst some nice trees.
Thus far if I was going to purchase an RV park this would be the one, it is quiet (until the guy just now started up the blower!!) beautifully laid out with plenty of room.
I will warn people that are following us, we are heading into Canada tomorrow, we have no idea of the reception nor of the facilities for our communication systems. Please be patient with us we will be ok and will make contact whenever possible.
Next posting a NEW Country! Will they let us intrepid travellers in? that is the question!
