Day 24 Utah - Salt Lake City
Today after a nice warm sleep in the wonderful little RV park, we took to the road.
Well the country rose a little (like to 8,300ft) but the road was well paved and a relaxing drive.
Again a lot of the diamond yellow signs warning of deer crossing, we were fortunate enough to observe two separate deer crossing in front of us.
Also signs warning about cattle and elk but to us they didn't show up.
Another Yellow triangular warning sign that created some humour was one that warned of tractors, I am pleased to report we didn't encounter any wild tractors along the highway! I am not sure how we would have dealt with them if we had come across one!
The trip took a lot less time than anticipated and we arrived into Salt Lake City to our destination (KOA RV park within a few minutes of the city), this park was easy to find because in the advertising brochure they had supplied the GPS co-ordinates, Mandy appreciated the information and didn't become confused at all, Well done Mandy!
The park is a very large one, and well set out, concrete drive through site for the Castle, with little grass plots and tables, (mind you all parks appear to supply a table per site)
Relax and catch up with washing and then a swim and a barby steak/tomato/chips for dinner.
We were refused sweets tonight for a reason I am still attempting to work out. It may have something to do with the Park supplied an hour of $2 all you can eat ice cream between 2:30pm and 3:30pm, with whatever topping you wanted. (gee the pulped fresh strawberries and whipped cream with a cherry on top did it for us!) So for this reason I guess sweets are NOT available tonight. GEE what sort of Castle Komandant do we have?
Well the weather and feeling is relaxed and there is a free shuttle bus into the city centre tomorrow so I guess the rolling Castle gets a rest tomorrow as the Travellers take the city sights in, in the World centre of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. (Mormon)
Hopefully the communication system problems we have been experiencing are past and we can again post some photos to catch up.
I also add here that the email HAS been deleting what it has considered spam, (I noticed one flick up from the Real Mandy and then disappear) I attempted to track where it had run away to, into this machine and found a record that suggested it was spam.
I have attempted to fix that but still unsure if I have managed the correct outcome, so please either post a note if you have sent one and we didn't respond or attempt to resend it. (Where is Adam when I need him?)
We tried to talk to family by skype phone with limited success, Yes it is cheaper but it is a bit hit and miss!
