Day 14 - 21 May 2008.
Well today was Sea World Day at San Diego. Firstly we set the GPS to take us to the bank to pick up Earnie's card and we found the bank no problem located near a very large Westfield shopping centre.
No problems picking up the card and then reset Mandy and away we go.
Obtained premier parking (yes we had to pay to fit the Castle) and in we go.
Morning tea time by this stage and then off to the shows.
These are amazing shows with the animals and it was funny from a distance watching the Orca's splashing the crowd with its fins.
The crowds were not too large and the shift between shows was easily done and plenty of room to sit and enjoy.
By the time we came to the Dolphins we were game enough to sit in the "you could get wet zone" we were warned but figured you wouldn't get as wet from Dolphins as you do BIG Killer Whales.
GUESS WHAT? We were Drenched on the first pass yet alone the next four or five.
We may as well as been in the tank with them! No kidding it was complete.
We looked for the warm sunshine as we went to the next show of the pets strutting their stuff, trained dogs, cats and Pigs.
I never knew it was possible to train a cat but we observed a cat climb a pole and jump back into the trainers arms and another cat run along a rope upside down.
Really good show.
Some late lunch, and of course the big boy kids had to have a go on the roller coaster but Karon decided she had enough of getting wet. (gee she is a wise woman). But the boys came back grinning.
Then off to the Arctic section to see the white whales and the polar bears and penguins.
We were unable to take the tower ride because of winds but it was time to leave.
We left after an enjoyable day out.
Decided to go to a tourist look out park but were turned away by a nice security guard or police guy who didn't want to offend us but the park closes at 5pm and it was already 5:20, so he suggested it is open between 9-5 each day.
Home we came and Karon and Earnie did the washing while Rick unpacked and set up the new Barby and cooked dinner.
It was yummy Salmon on the barby with a little salad. (we do at times attempt to eat healthy!
Well folks that is all from us today, tomorrow we are going to take some time to look around this city and then decide where to next. As you can see the little pins on the map are at last shifting along.
I hopefully will catch up on the photo posting tomorrow. It is an interesting exercise, but I am sure I will master the process after a few more weeks of trying, as most of you know I never give up!
Love to all from the fun loving travellers.
