The next leg was the area that Keith was least looking forward to: the long haul over to Broome.

513Kms from Katherine is the little oasis town of Kununurra. We utilised it as a rest stop, although there's plenty to see if you have the energy. It was pretty hot (hovering around 40), so we spent most of our time around the pool in the van park.

We detoured into Purnululu National Park, 50km north of Turkey Creek. It was another grueling 50km in by 4x4 tracks. It was worth every bone jarring minute! The Bungle Bungle Range has achieved World Heritage Listing and is absolutely spectacular. It's instantly recognized by its orange and black striped domes. Probably the best known feature would be Cathedral Gorge - it truly gives you a feeling of reverence and awe as you enter.

We spent a pretty average night in our tent at one of the camp grounds and exited the next day, all grumpy and exhausted (except Loz who slept like a log).
