The Darwinites head to Litchfield National Park for swimming. It's about 1 ½ hours drive south. Just before you enter the national park, there is a fantastic place called Berry Springs. You enter the water in one big rock pool and then meander down the creek to another. A little further down the creek leads you into a third and final pool.
We decided to head into Litchfield NP and stay overnight, as we were on our way south. It's fairly compact, so we were able to see and swim at a number of places in one day. The Buley rock pools are just gorgeous. It is a series of little pools with cascades running through each. At the bottom of a fairly steep set of stairs was Florence Falls. Another natural rock pool beckoned us to swim. Just a hop, skip and a jump away was Tolmer Falls. It was purely a sight seeing spot. Wangi Falls was our last stop. This was a fairly large rock pool and was our least favourite. There's something about swimming in something that man has not tampered with. Wangi has concrete and handrails and a shop that charged $4.50 for a golden gaytime...
By now, none of us care what we look like in our cozzies!!
