After the deflation of previous days (roo hit, lost van keys and the kid's bike rack breaking) we limped in to Mataranka.

Willie's Auto Repairs and Welding was a welcome sight. He's a real character - wanted Keith to have a beer with him while he fixed the weld on the bike rack. It cost us $10 for the repair and we felt our luck might be turning!

Having 3 nights in Mataranka, we visited Bitter Springs and the Thermal pool and RELAXED. We finally felt like we were holidaying.

Bitter Springs will remain as a travel highlight. It was exquisite. The Thermal Pool, on the other hand, stunk from the bats and was far less idyllic.
