On Wednesday and Thursday I've just taken things easy and spent time around the city of Darwin. I watched both Champions League Semi Finals by going to the Casino in the dead of night and saw a great movie - The Last King Of Scotland. I've booked a day trip for Saturday when the English girls from the Ghan get here and should have some more photos then.
The train arrived into Darwin at about 5pm. After a 25km transfer into the city centre I checked into the YHA hostel and got settled. I headed out for food and was walking along Mitchell Street when I recognised two girls walking towards me. We stopped in the street in mutual recognition and from the depths of my brain I plucked the two names of the ladies - Sophie from Holland and Synna from Denmark! I'd done the Perth to Margaret River trip with them and got on pretty well so it was nice to meet them again. We went out for Pizza and wine and they took me to the Vic bar for drinks. That was a nice thing since I had no buddies from the train in Darwin thanks to my non-socialising on the last leg of the train. I had an early night as I had plans for a very early morning the next day.
