Sunday morning and I left Exmouth to return to Perth. The Easyrider return service to Perth only leaves on Fridays so I boarded a rival company's return service - Red Earth. The trip back by road takes two days and one night. We drove for about eight or nine hours solid only stopping for a bit of lunch at a road-house. The group I was with had been together for nine days and knew each other pretty well, they were nice people and welcomed another easyrider, Keri from Sydney, and I quickly into their clique.

Our overnight stop was in a very small town called Northampton. We stayed in a converted convent with adjoining church. The place had tales of one-legged ghosts but he proved elusive. The dorms were single sex and the manageress made sure to check this was observed long after we had checked in!

Our tour guide Terry cooked us dinner in the convent. Red Earth tours are all-inclusive where as the Easyrider ones are not. I'm happy either way. After dinner we had a game of musical chairs to decide which "team" would do the washing up. It all felt a bit scouts-ish but after a few beers at dinner it was good fun. Our team won by the way!
