Had the standard three meals in silence again. I went up the front and got soaked twice by two errant waves. "Up the front" has an entirely different meaning in my World War 1 book - can't believe what the men on both sides had to deal with back then. Getting soaked was embarrassing as I had to walk back to my room dripping wet! Jess told me that sometimes the waves throw fish up onto the boat's deck and the crew cook them up in the galley. Talking of fish I'd seen my first marine wildlife today - flying fish. They were flying out of the way of the front of the boat. I thought they were birds originally their flying was so good!
It's surreal being on this vessel. You go to the Port side, look round 180 degrees, nothing but horizon. Then you go to the Starboard side, look around another 180 degrees and get the same view. It's peaceful at the front of the boat (away from the engines) and you get a wider view.
