I was back on the main road to Kuantan at 9am and caught the one hour bus ride back. At Kuantan I crossed the city by taxi and got the the Terminal (Kuantan's long distance bus station). Many buses go the five hours to Kuala Lumpur so I was one on within half an hour and in KL by 2.30pm!

I used the monorail system to get to the Institute of Medical Research and began searching out the virology department. I still had my main pack on me as I was hoping to get this done and on my way again without needing to stay over night. In the virology department I saw the sign for "Yellow Fever vaccinations" and cheered right up. That elation was short lived. This department only immunises Government workers! Great stuff but my hunt was furthered by an address of a private clinic at the Petronas Towers shopping complex. The familiar KL heat was getting to me and my pack now so I got into another taxi rather than trek across town.

The girl of the Bournemouth couple was sure that the Yellow Fever jab was, well not given in the arm let's say which was playing on my mind! Here was I racing around a hot and humid country with full backpack in tow and about to expose my smelly rear to a stranger with a needle! C'est la vie I thought as I got into the shopping centre.

I got registered in the reception and waited my turn. Time was ticking on and I began thinking I would need a night in KL after all. I was ushered into a room with a very pretty young doctor and was first given the cholera drink Thoughts turned to the needle and my bottom but the Bournemouth girl turned out to be about three feet wide of the mark and I got the shot in the arm. After the jab the doctor told me that in 4-7 days I would get a fever and not to worry and just take Panadol. Wonderful I thought! As well as pre-occupying me for the last few days this is going to make me sick over the next few days!

I paid my substantial bill and left for the Puduraya bus station in KL. I want to go back to the Cameron Highlands to spend my last week in Malaysia. The East coast seems to be a write-off and the time I had in the highlands was among my favourite times since I started travelling. It's another five hours on the bus but I was keen to get there and begin relaxing. I had missed the last bus though and checked into the Chinatown hostel I'd used in KL before.

That night I met an English guy and went to watch a movie at the Mid Valley Mega Mall (that place is great). The movie was a good one and after a few beers in the roof-top bar at the hostel I got my head down.
