Charlie, Johnny and I left Kuala Tahan by boat at 9am. We had all been persuaded to pay 25 ringgits (four pounds) for a return boat journey without realising that the faster and cheaper (6 ringgits) bus was the best option. Brian got the bus and we all planned to meet back in Jerantut.
In Jerantut we got a bus to Temerloh (Pahang's transport hub city) and then the others got a bus to Kuala Lumpur and I took one to Kuantan on the East coast. I want to spend my last few weeks on the East coast at one or two of the nice beach spots here before going to Singapore.
I found a good hotel and paid a bit more than usual for it. I wanted a bath more than anything! I checked into the Classic Hotel and made sure my room had a bathtub before taking it. What a relief to have a bath after the jungle trekking - I don't think I've had one on my travels at all so I took my time over it. Kuantan is Pahang's state capital but I don't think I'll be staying here long. I got an email from the boat company today saying that I need Yellow Fever and Cholera immunisation certificates! It really is one thing after another with this boat trip to Oz.
