We procured a frisbee and headed to the beach for an hour or so. When you've done practically no exercise in four months half an hour's frisbee is quite an exertion so before long we were in the sea cooling off. The rains returns and we headed back to the Sanctuary. We decided that one night would be enough in Ko Lanta and booked our next bit of travel to Ko Samui leaving the very next morning. Our pick up would be at 8am so the playful travel agent reminded us "No Party" tonight as we left the shop.
Well if we were to be home early tonight we had better go out early too - right? Big mistake. We found a small Swedish bar called the "Hammarby" bar after the Stockholm football team. It had a pristine pool table so we started playing. Only a few beers so far at 6pm so no problems there. Then we walked down the coastal road to another resort bar and got talking to some English travelers and the Thai barman. Only a few more beers so no real problems yet. Then we walked along the beach to find some food. One restaurant had a table tennis table so we gave that a go and ate a fairly reasonable curry. A few more beers but they were with food so they didn't count. On the way home we passed the Hammarby bar again and stopped by to say hi to the bar girls again and play some more pool. The girls were having a bit of a party while their boss was away and we were playing doubles pool with them and having the odd beer too. At one point one of the girls raised her whiskey glass to me to say "cheers" I got the wrong end of the stick and thought she was giving me the shot of whiskey so I quaffed that down to her surprise. Neil and I got our own bottle of whiskey (the lethal Thai whiskey Samsong) and that's where it all went "Pete Tong".
