This morning we walked about 4km with our main back packs on to the new northern Chiang Mai bus station. From here we booked a ticket to Chiang Rai which is a smaller town even closer to the Northern borders with Laos and Burma. We had to hang around for a few hours before the bus left, and it took 4 hours to get to Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is actually pretty close to Luang Prabang in Laos and I was there over 1 month ago so it feels like I'm going backwards on my trip and not forwards at the moment!
We were very tired on arrival so Gabi got some sleep and I headed out and watched some football at a local bar ( I think it was Everton v Chelsea - unlucky Everton ). Got talking to an Irish Tottenham fan and some other lads but had to hit the sack around 11pm as it had been a tough day traveling - one that I had started with a hangover!
