Panajachel is quite a bit more touristy than Xela, the main street seems to be like a mini version of Khoa San road in Bangkok although obviously not nearly as crazy. Set on Lake Atitalan,  a collapsed volcano crater, itīs a pretty little town. One downside is it rains a lot in the afternoon with the streets almost flooding due to the torrential downpour. Apart from taking it easy or boat trips on the lake there isnīt a lot to do here and two days here was enough for me.
