This small town in the middle of the Chiapas highlands in Mexico makes a nice place to stop over for the night. The bus journey was another five or six hours, again with some crappy movies in Spanish. It's good for practising Spanish but really they should show something decent.
San Cristobal and the surrounding area is mainly populated by indigeneuos people and there's a small guerrilla uprising here led by the Zapatistas but there hasn't been much activity lately and I didn't see anything apart from a few Murals and graffiti. There have also been reports of buses been held up by armed gunmen and robbed but this is central America, you always hear these stories.
Not a lot to do here but wander around, the weather was a bit on the wet side but this is a pleasant town with a few good bars to visit in the evening as well.
