The flight wasn't too bad, managed to sleep a bit and arrived into Bangkok airport not feeling too tired (as yet). Ignored all the taxi drivers trying to charge me 800B(16 Euros ) to get to bangkok and located a bus that would take me directly to khao san road for 150B. Bus ride took about an hour, we were in a new airport which was only opened recently and seems to be further out than the other one. We were also crawling through friday evening rush hour traffic which puts the M50 to shame. Simple enough job to sort out accommodation on khao san in a cheap hotel (300B) . Strolled around a bit and sampled some of the local cuisine from the street vendors. Had an early night then as was pretty tired.
Did a bit of sightseeing today(saturday), got a day ticket for the sky train which is an impressive elevated train and useful for getting around. As I've been to bangkok before there wasn't much more to see, didn't see any more big buddhas or temples. Will leave bangkok tomorrow and make my way down towards krabi. Night trains are all full so will get a bus half way tomorrow and the rest of the way on Monday.
