Kuru hospitality is just so absolutely lovely.  Sid and Muneera treated me to a wonderful Sunday and Rais charmed me from the moment he crawled out of his cot.  Scrambled eggs (they are getting better every time I visit, Sid!) and croissants combined for a very relaxed breakfast and Rais provided the entertainment with a repertoire of hoovering, CBeebies dancing and lion impressions.

We then loaded up the Merc and set off for France where we found Lake Annecy, a spot which was obviously sculpted 1000s of years ago so that people could stroll around its banks on a Sunday. Throw in Moules Frites and it was a very good visit.

On the drive home most of us fell asleep.  Sid fortunately did not and decided to break up the journey with a very extravagant hot chocolate at a Geneva Country Club

When we got back to Coppet there was just time for me to put my bike together before retiring to the sofa for a Sunday afternoon snooze.  Constructing the bike left me with two niggling worries overnight.  One, I did not have a pump to take with me and would have to risk trying to get to 20 mile away Laussane without a puncture.  Here I am sure there will be a bike shop where I can buy what I need.  Secondly, the handlebars were not actually secured to the main frame.  They were wiggling about all over the place.  Again, I would have to try and remedy this in Lausanne.

A wonderful Sunday but I can't help admitting that I am a little nervous about the 250 miles to Milan.  Today was incredibly cold and with a climb into the mountains ahead, things are sure to get challenging.

Miles Cycled:  0. Still not off the mark.
