Another fabulous day. We woke up hot and sweaty in our fan only room so headed straight out for cooling mango shakes and croissants in a nearby bakery. Back at the hotel Mikey fixed my puncture and in the process managed to lock the key in the room. With no spare and a ferry to catch in 15 minutes he got a bit panicky (he doesn't have the Gick laid back attitude to time keeping). The receptionist nimbly tightrope walked along the banisters and out of a window on to a nearby roof, before leaping in through the window to let us back in. Phew!

At the ferry dock we met our helpful friend from the travel agents who has sorted accommodation on Ko Lanta for us and is coming on the ferry to book our boat tickets to Langkawi. Even touts in Thailand are incredibly friendly and helpful. This guy has got us tickets for exactly the same price we saw online and spent ages ringing round checking out the bike situation. He’s also very funny and bossy about where we should stay and what we should do. Mikey likes him because he knew all about Pompey.

On the ferry we bumped into yet more incredibly friendly New Zealanders who happened on their way to Langkawi for a wedding. They were suffering the after effects of a stag do and several heavy nights out but still made for entertaining chat on the scenic voyage.   They were convinced Mikey was Australian, he must get a hair cut and stop looking like such a hairy hippy.

On arrival we pedalled out of the ferry terminal with lots of taxi drivers having a giggle offering us lifts. The 3 miles to the resort were plenty for today, its insanely hot again and my tyre is once again FLAT!!! That makes 7 from the same cause.

The resort our friend has brought us to is amazing, our room is rubbish, but incredibly cheap and with a white sand beach and loungers by a sparkling pool who needs to be in the room? We dived straight into the sea before a burger (Fat Mike) and a spicy papaya salad (Polly) overlooking the beach. The huge miles of the last few days seem like a distant dream – that is until I sat in a deck chair and fell straight to sleep!

I’ve just woken up to find Mikey’s finished all the other blogs and we can now upload the backlog. Tonight looks like a Thai massage by the beach then our last Thai meal before Malaysia tomorrow – heaven…

Just had the Thai massage lying on a platform over the beach watching the sunset – loved it. I did scream a little bit at one point when she elbowed my thigh muscle – tried to explain about the cycling but she didn’t really get it. Everything perfect except have just seen my bike now has a flat front tyre – that makes 8. What’s going on?

Thailand looks amazing - let's hope Malaysia is as good. You've done incredibly well and made stunning progress through stunning scenery. Not quite the same, but we are going through a hot spelll and lunch on deck at Gun Wharf ( between spells of work ) was lovely. Got home and a paramotorer was flying overhead - have not been able to find out if it was Dan or not - but it looke lovely. Have a brilliant time with Tom - how fantastic that he's joining you - lucky him too.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I often wondered if Thailand wasn't a bit over-rated - I can see I was totally wrong it look just so beautiful with a real added bonus of friendly people. I hope Malasia is more of the same and you have a terric time with your friend Tom - do you think Giles and Charlotte should bring out a brand new wheel?

All love Jojo & Christopher

Jealous, moi?? hmmmm! If it weren't for those '108 miles in a day' days I think I might pack my bags (and may'be my baby - the rotter WHO DID NOT SLEEP last night) and come join you! So pleased you are having such a wonderful time though and at least with your super blog I can live vicariously through you! Not much on here, more viewers this weekend so fingers crossed (and I am using your offer of £250 as a tempter Mikey!). Olaf has been out playing with a tray full of water in the garden and eating strawberries making a proper mess so really gearing up for summer!. Right, best be off to play with the rotter (from 10.30 till 1am he refused to lie down!!!!!) all our love xxxxxxx

There are some compensations for being stuck here in old Blighty - the weather is amazing - the trees have all got that faint haze of green - the bluebells are just begining to appear and the back road from Chichester to Bosham is a blaze of yellow - first the king cups and then fields of rape. CJB and I have just feasted on king prawns and smoked salmon in the garden with a very nice bottle of white wine. Mojo is in the dingy park ready for the Classic race next w/e and Echo is (hopefully) nearly ready to go back into the water so we are just about ready for summer to arrive (I know it's abit early but one can hope).

In future I should wait until my computer catches up!!!!! Thailand sounds as if it has been amazing and really glad you managed to get to destinations despite the weather and detours. Even Scotland has decent weather today - forecast 20 degrees and as John has a sore knee gardening is the agenda not golf - don't think he is too thrilled by the prospect however he has the Augusta Masters to watch later.
I am now on facebook thanks to my daughter in law - have not a clue what I ma doing but I seem to have got a lot of friends!!! - need a tutorial on what to do next!!!!
Take care and enjoy Malaysia
All love Lindy
