Where I stayed
Bianca's Garden Hotel
Biancas Garden is a tiny little hotel with eleven rooms. It is housed in a large Spanish colonial home with a few rooms scattered around the main house. All four sides are surrounded by high walls or other buildings, sealing the place in. The courtyard has a few tables, a swimming pool, an outdoor bar and a bunch of exotic vegetation. The place is basically a little island of peace and quiet in the middle of the Chaos that is Malate. Throw in a little rasta reggae coming from the bar and you get just the right vibe.
I hung out in the empty courtyard with John, the bartender/caretaker for the afternoon. All the Filippinos I've met so far are very inqusitive and positive, and John was no exception, so it made for a fun time
The courtyard vibe drew me in again today for most of the day and I can't say I'm complaining. I'll be shutting down shop here shortly and heading over to Ortigas to check into a business hotel and get ready for work.
Forrest beat up Rampage today! Nice!
