We got back from our xmas bbq gathering at the beach around 6 o'clock.  At 7, one of the two guards on duty came upstairs to complain that the other guy had gone around to the back porch to catch a snooze.  This is a guy we have been growing less and less fond of - he's never available to open or close the gate when drive up, and he never has a smile or a hello.  So I went around the back, woke him up, and told him to hit the road.  The good guard called the boss to bring in another guy for the overnight shift, and I just shrugged my shoulders.  It's not so joyful giving a guy the boot on Christmas, but I'm sure he'll just get switched to another house where he can sulk and shirk his duties until they get fed up with him.
