Some background: several years ago we belonged to a parish where I started up a committee on "twinning", or developing a relationship with a sister parish. We moved away just after the parish council gave us the go ahead to start the process. My friend took over and over the course of time they twinned with a parish in
Panajachel, St. Francis of Assisi. On one of the parish visits there, our pastor studied Spanish at Jabel tinamit and it was on his recommendation that we chose this school.
My husband is an absolute beginner, and I am a Spanish teacher. We each had a wonderful experience at our respective levels, beginner and advanced. There is also intermediate
The school's director, Gregorio, was my teacher (and he had also taught Fr. Kevin and had many fun memories of that experience!) Juan Luis taught my husband and we heard lots of laughter from their part of the garden every day. My husband had been nervous about doing this but he enjoyed it. I was in heaven speaking Spanish for 4 hours every day! We also worked on some grammar points, mainly the subjunctive (of course!)
The setting is beautiful and relaxed, as you can see from the photos. It is professionally run and everyone there, both students and teachers, all seem friendly and happy to be there. I highly recommend it!
