Today is a day we can leave off the record. We got our start at 6:30 this morning, packed our car and we were on the road by 7am.  Our PLAN was to stop in Fredericksburg for breakfast before seeing the WWII museum.  Our dear Lord decided that he was going to give us a lesson in patience.  We got a flat tire 4.1 miles West of Fredericksburg.  Waited about 35 mins. For the Chevy Road side service to show up to change the tire.  While waiting there were about 5 cars as well as a County deputy that stopped to offer help or make sure we were ok.  What a great bunch of Texans.  The service guy got us on our way and we finished our drive into town.  Stopped at the local Chevy dealer and they were not a full service dealer.  We also tried to check for a Firestone dealer, none in the area.  The Chevy dealer suggested we go on into Marble Falls and check the dealer out there or the one in Austin.  Well we felt that it was too far to go on a donut tire so we stopped at a Walmart we were passing.  $140.00 later we finally were on our way again.

We decided not to tour the WWII museum because they didn't have any public bathrooms on the property.  We were told to go across the street to the visitor’s center and use the off the street public restrooms there.  They were dirty and disgusting.  We just felt that if a museum cannot provide for their viewing public then we didn’t need to support it.  After we get back home we will be requesting to be removed from their maillist and we will not be sending any more support to them in the future.

Driving through the Texas Hill country which was beautiful we arrived at Bonnie’s home around 5:30pm in Jonestown, TX.  Bonnie had some roses in a vase to greet us on our arrival in the bedreoom where we will be sleeping.  We brought our stuff from the car in sat down for a short visit then showered before dinner.  Bonnie’s Daughter, Kathy, son-in-law, Steven and grandson come over for a GREAT Pork roast dinner that Bonnie made espcially for us.  Kathy’s friend, David, his wife, Edie and son also joined us for dinner.  Wonderful company, great conversation and fantastic food equal a great evening after our trying day.

It has been a very long day and since we were thoroughly exhausted we called it a night after everyone left.

God bless all the wonderful Texans who stopped to offer help on the road today.  Bless Bonnie and her family and friends as well as all our blog readers.

Wow Patty what a blowout. I have never had a blowout and had no idea how large the hole could be. So glad it didn't cause an accident of some other form of tragedy. So glad you had your car blessed and your little angels were with you through it all. I loved your idea of trying to get a picture of us with the angels on your departure. Sorry I was already in my PJ's I was so tired I was feeling dizzy. Would not have made a very pretty picture but the thought was sweet. We sure did have a nice visit.

There must be a bathroom tax in Texas. Most of the rest areas don't have them, and many businesses that you would expect to have them do not. Must be where the game of "Texas Hold'em" came from.
