Where I stayed
Goldstream Provincial Park
Using a walking guide map, Jim and I almost wore out the soles of our shoes exploring the city. We explored alleyways that are now shops and restaurants, Chinatown, and the harbor. We even made time for a trip to the British Columbia Museum to see their native art and the "Treasures" exhibit – artifacts from the British Museum in London, representing different periods of civilization.
Victoria is a lively and diverse city, traditional yet contemporary
Alas, though, we had to take our tired feet back to our campground – not too bad a plight, however, since Goldstream Provincial Park is in an old growth temperate rain forest with Douglas firs towering overhead and waterfalls tucked away nearby. It was one of the most scenic campgrounds we'd stayed at so far.
(The attached photos are from our first day exploring Victoria's downtown area. Photos for the other two days will be in subsequent entries. Way too many pics to include in one entry!!)
