This morning we woke up quite early but not in time for pancakes. We were both a little anxious about whether the Greyhound coach would be running today. Jennie went to ask at reception to find out and after I had showered I went to find her. She said that there might be a bus leaving today but they wouldn't know until 5pm.
We both realised that we would have to sort out a way for us to get out of Rainbow beach to make sure we weren't stuck there. First port of call was Peter Pans at 9am where we joined the mass queue of people trying to sort out their travel plans. Eventually we got to speak to someone and asked about what the best thing we should do about getting out to Airlie Beach and that we wouldn't be able to make it to 1770.

She said she would cancel our Scooteroo and we would get 90%2525 of our money back but wouldn't get any money from our accommodation. She also advised we do everything we can to get to Airlie Beach and not get stuck in Agnes Waters/1770 as we wouldn't be able to get back out in time probably. We then called Greyhound and after a long conversation, managed to grab the last two seats on a coach to Airlie Beach leaving tomorrow from Hervey Bay. That gave us 20 minutes to book ourselves onto the hostel's shuttle bus service going to Hervey Bay before it would leave. It was such a hurry and we had to pay $70 each to do it but we also managed to take the last two seats on that!

We hurriedly packed our stuff up and sadly didn't get a chance to say goodbye to anyone from our trip. We made a few good friends on it.
We got into the 4x4 lead car, so were sitting sideways again and had to sit there for about 3 and a half hours which got really uncomfortable. We were diverted about an hour and a half in because a bridge was flooded, and then another bridge was flooded so we had to go a different way. Finally we arrived in Hervey Bay and went straight to the transit centre to find somewhere for us to stay tonight. They booked us into The Woolshed who would come and pick us up.

We waited there for a bit, had a little food before we got picked up and taken to the hostel. There seemed to be a mixup with our booking but all was good and we went to our room which was made almost completely of wood and the whole hostel had a sort of lodge-in-the-woods feel about it. I really liked it and it felt quite cosy.

We had a short rest and then a shower before heading out to the nearby supermarket to buy stuff for dinner. We made a vegetable pasta in the kitchen which was really cosy and very alike to a kitchen in someone's home so much nicer than some of the ones we've used before. I went to get my bottle of water from our room but couldn't get in with the key. No matter how hard I tried it just wouldn't open. I went back and told Jennie and we both tried and went to reception which had closed an hour ago. We were really anxious by then about what we were gonna do but after knocking on the reception door loudly, a woman from the house next door called out. We went over to her and she came to help us. When she couldn't open it she went to get the manager who brought lots of keys and it transpired that they had given us the wrong key! So thankfully we were back in our room and could relax again.

We wrote in our journals and read some more before going to bed. We saw quite a few small lizards crawling round the ceiling of the staircase up to our room and also when I went to brush my teeth I saw a toad/frog jump past me. The loudest though were the bats who mad a high pitched racket. We both slept pretty well though so all was good.
