We got up a little late today, probably had something to do with the Skittles Vodka. By midday, we were up and ready to make our way back down to Bondi to find the market. I read in a couple of different brochures that Bondi market is a must so I had high hopes to find some interesting little stalls. We went on a bit if a wild goose chase trying to find the right bus and bus stop but we managed it eventually. It seemed everyone else in Sydney had the same idea as us - the bus was packed full to the brim. The most notable passenger was a young Russian guy who did not stop talking. His two friends barely got a word in. At one point the subject turned to religion which I thought was a bit much for a bus trip down to the beach but each to their own?!

Down at Bondi, we walked along the main road opposite the sand until we got to the school yard where the market is held. It didn't disappoint. I think we could have easily bought something at every stall. There were loads of boutique little clothes and jewellery stalls - Mum, you'd have been in your element! We went back and forth a few times trying to decide what to purchase. Rikki opted for a t-shirt and we both went for some interesting prints.

By early afternoon we were walking back down the main road and stopped for some lunch at an Italian restaurant offering a good lunch deal. We did a good deal of people watching and then headed down to the sand. Unfortunately, at this point in an otherwise sunny day, the clouds drifted in and the wind picked up significantly. So our walk along the shore wasn't too pleasant. We soon decided to jump on the bus and head back to central Sydney.

The return bus was even more rammed with people than before which I didn't think was possible. Lo and behold, who just manages to squeeze on before the driver says "no more"...the Russian guy again! So we were subjected to another round of his distinct chattering. This time the subject matter had shifted to how soft his skin was now that he started moisturising...

We just managed to get back to the hostel before the heaven's opened - thank goodness! We went down to the sidebar and got ourselves a roast dinner to remind us of home :) then had a few drinks with a couple of the girls in our room.
