Hi! Thanks for visiting!
I have less than 2 weeks to go and I still not as excited as I think I should be. I guess being the last-minute type of person that I am, I won't get excited till I finish crying and hugging my grandparents and auntie good-bye at the airport and actually set foot on the plane!
Last minute preparations have included multiple internet purchases; i.e. Chile guidebooks, a snowboard travel case and a pair of Chacko sandals that were almost not worth the trouble from a crazy eBay lady who wanted an extra dollar from me to pay her BART fares to get to the post office.
I am not sure what I am going to miss the most about Davis/Woodland. Cappucinos from Terri at Cafe Roma. She never smiles, but damn, can she make an awesome rosetta leaf out of the foam. I'll miss shredding up Alpine Meadows on powder days with John and Heather. lalalala means I love you! I'll miss morning bike rides in the summer with the triathlon team. These people give a whole new meaning to the word crazy. I'll miss family dinners at grandma's house. Everyone else in my family may be anti-vegetables, but grandma always makes a vegetarian casserole for me. I'll miss my other "family" this month: Kristi, Erick, Hurley-dog and Mia and (maybe, but probably not) Chloe the devil-cat. I would miss the fish too, but I don't even know their names.
I have one last thought before I wrap this up...I've heard unconfirmed rumors that there are no Mexican tortillas in Chile. While I refuse to believe this is true, if you get a desperate email from me asking for a little Tia Rosa love, please oblige.
