Today we are at sea tracking north-easterly toward our next port of call – Oslo. Prior to our arrival we will have to transit through the picturesque Norwegian fjords. The weather has continued to remain cloudy and cold but since there is much to do inside the ship, this won’t be a problem.

After our day at sea yesterday, we are looking forward to today’s stopover in Oslo – a city that wraps itself around a beautiful fjord. The beautiful harbour is 60 miles from the sea and seafarer’s have lived here since the 8th century. Our commodore and the fjord pilot navigate the passage in the early hours of the morning
Whilst I had planned a full itinerary for the time we would be in Oslo today, we are meeting our friend Annalise and her sister, Monica, after debarking, so we will most likely just stroll around taking in a few sights as we go. The ship sails for Copenhagen mid-afternoon and we shall be back for another longer day in Oslo after that, so there is no pressure to rush around.
After an enjoyable morning, we head back to the ship as the weather begins to turn, the wind starts to increase and the seas become rough. Once more, the ship’s Commodore and the local pilot navigate back out through the Oslo fjord and beyond to the Drobak Narrows as the seas rise to over 15 feet and beyond. Whilst the seas are high and the winds are howling, remarkably we enjoy a 4 course meal in the dining room followed by a late show.
Those ship stabilisers were certainly doing their job.
