One sobering reminder of the world in which we live are the frequent signs proclaiming "You are entering a Tsunami hazard zone"! In one town where stopped I was utilising the facilities when an almighty alarm went off - mercifully it was the weekly Tsunami alarm test!
As you can see from the photos, the coastline continues to surprise and delight. At Cape Kiwanda there is this massive sand dune and Katrina just felt the need to climb it! I stayed on the beach taking photos which seemed by far the more sensible option
We travelled through many nice little towns and there is evidence that some of the ports stilla re able to support a working fleet of fishging boats. good for the.Seafood restaurants are plentiful here and the range of fare on offer is extensive, very fresh and delicious as we discovered this evening at the excellent Doogers Seafood and Grill. Thoroughly recommend it.
We repaired yo the local incarnation of Motel 6 in Seaside with which we are becoming very familiar by now. good clean accommodation - 2 King-sized beds, en-suite, TV, free wi-fi, fridge, microwave and this time a sofa and coffee table too - all for £40 a night - pretty good.
Tomorrow we push on to Seattle covering the whole of the state of Washington nearly. That marks the northerly limit of our trip.
