After a much more pleasant journey from the jungle of Taman Negara including our own private chartered boat (no really....well there was nobody else on it!) we arrived in the nation's capital - Kuala Lumpur. We woke up early and headed for the city's star attraction - the Petronas towers (not sure if you know but they were built by Bovis). Tickets to go across the Skybridge are free but limited in numbers so we got our passes bright and early and went to explore. After having lunch in Chinatown and Sam (aka Bungle) nearly severing 3 of his fingers trying to open a bottle of Coke (Ha Ha - don't worry Caroline, he's fine.....really) we headed back to the towers for the lift up the 42nd out of 88 floors. After being fed a huge amount of corporate info about how great Petronas are and they are not really a bloodsucking cash cow who are making obscene profits at the expense of middle eastern countries we started the ascent! The views were awesome and the buildings were pretty spectacular. Pillars of Strength and Integrity

The evening consisted of going to 'Little India' and feasting on all you can eat curry for only 1.50 GBP with drink - beat that Passage, although neither of us really fancied the curried frog dish! A few drinks followed at the self-proclaimed 'Best Bar in Asia' where the Ringitt was king and wealthy western bankers were courted by the young locals - needless to say that 2 scruffy backpackers were very much overlooked!

After a small matter of confusion with the dates we headed to Singapore via bus the following day after both thinking we had one extra day than we actually did! So we got a few hours in Singapore, caught the LRT (Underground) to the cleanest airport in the universe and caught our flight to Oz. SE Asia was truly awesome and I hope Australasia can live up to the high standards set....
