Apologies for lack of updates but most of the places we have recently been have been somewhat undeveloped with few facilities!!

After leaving our last Thai destination of the trip (Ko Phi Phi) we headed on what would prove to be our most hellish journey to date! For approximately 10 hours myself and Sam were crammed into the hottest sardine can 'VIP'(most loosest term ever used!) minibus to make the trip to the border. Unfortunately we read enroute that the border is only open from 5am to 5pm (I never knew border crossing closed??!) so we had to stay 1 more night in a hole of a border town called Sungai Kolok - the adventures never cease! The hotel turned out to be a mix between Dusk Till Dawn mixed with Sin City with a crazy club incorporated into the hotel blaring out crazy techno at 200dB until the early hours and where certain Malaysian men cross to border to sample some Thai delights, if you know what I mean...... In the morning, after making a swift exit we crossed the border on foot into Malaysia (just like in the films!) Another taxi ride and then a ferry awaited us and we were then in the unspoilt heaven of the Perhentian Islands. We opted for the smaller island of the 2 and booked ourselves in for 3 nights in a solid but basic wooden hut. The island is beautifully undeveloped with part-time electricity, no phones or atms and literally no TV or internet as well! So, there was only 1 thing to do - get a good book, book some scuba dives and soak up some rays!

Flexing our International Scuba licences gained in Thailand (Professionals....sure) we tried a couple of the sites around the island with the second one being amazing! The dive was called the 'Temple of the Sea' and while swimming around what was basically an underwater mountain we saw Moray Eels, Pufferfish, Yellow Snappers, Stingray and also a Bamboo Shark!!!

After an awesome time chilling out, feasting on bbq's in the evening and enjoying the tranquility we headed back to the main land to head to one of the oldest jungles on the planet - Taman Negara National Park....
