Happy Bday, Felix!  Our big boy is officially teen today, he'll spend his big day in the camp, I wonder if Lee will remember to acknowledge the special occasion.

Our last day in Maui, flying home tonight.

Waking up super windy outside, like mini-typhoon, w/o rain.  We're a bit concerned if the flight would be able to take off.  Not much we could do at this point, better enjoy our day!

Head over to O'o farm for the tour & luncheon.  Quite a lot of people there, approx 25, big crowd.  We toured the farm, orchard, picked up greens, learned about how the farm did its compost, etc.  The chef did a brief talk about what would go to our lunch in between 1st part of tour (orchard) and 2nd part of tour (picking up greens for salad).  I felt that it's a bigger scale of Syaucheng's garden.  The farm is nice, tour informational, though sometimes the questions the crowd asked just made me wonder "Where were  those people come from"?  "They have not seen fresh produce?".

I guess I'm spoiled living in N. CA, where fresh produce abundant and year round.  And I've a sister who is very good cook, and has taught me well (how to cook & how to appreciate good fresh produce), and yes, also thankful that our good friend Laura introduced us about the "white pineapple".  There's a tray with white pineapples.  Curtis and I stood next by the tray.  The crowd literally swarm in and grabbed the pineapples by hand disregard of the toothpicks that were arranged by the tray.  Barbarians!!!  Curtis and I were very shocked.......those are Americans!  terrible manners!

Maybe Curtis and I are not the mainstream crowd to the farm.  We do enjoy the food very much, though.  The outdoor kitchen/oven does do wonder.  And the hand-rolled truffles, yum yum, went really well with coffee.  Wish I could have loaded more on my plate!

Here's the menu of what we had,

Greens with Lemon Vinaigrette
Tofu with baked beets, chard, herb
Fresh fish with Maui onion & green
Freshly baked Focaccia with fresh herb
Chocolate truffle with espresso (beans grown & roasted in farm)

I believe I've 3 servings......

Stopped by Wal-Mart to get a couple of potato chip bags for the boys.  Maui style, surfer onion dude, the one with Maui onion flavor is our favorite.  It belongs to Frito-Lay, but we couldn't find anything similar in the mainland.  The ones in mainland is too crunchy, especially hard to chew for Mr. Alex, who had 9 teeth extracted early summer.  I

If we can spare a luggage, we'll have it loaded with Maui Onion Chips.

Speaking of loaded luggage with Hawaiian goodies, there's one guy at the airport flying back to Mainland had his bag checked.  When the luggage was open, it's loaded with CANS of SPAMS, with all different flavors.  CANS are heavy, this person is definitely Hawaiian!  They love Spams!

Spam flavored mac nuts, spam pan fried then rolled with seaweed to make sushi hand roll.

Until next time.....maybe Oahu & Maui combo if we take children vacationing with us.  Felix wants to visit Pearl Harbor, and maybe we can find something non-touristy at the densely populated Oahu.  Heard that there're 6 lanes each direction on the major highway.  Are we talking about LA?

Oh, one more thing, did I mention that our GPS brought from home stop functioning?  The last couple of hours of our trip in Maui.  Luckily, Curtis kind of figuring out where everything was.  One of the connectors broke off and stuck in the mini-Cooper rental.
