I will now try to leave out the money references but its quite hard.
last evening we also went out to the local orphange 'Little Angels' - we took a sack of rice, 30 toothbrushes, toothpaste and other stuff plus Liz's first t-shirt rejects - a great time was had with the kids who actually had no rice for the next day. They knew the hoky coky and got heads shoulders knees and toes very quickly too.
On a really good connection at the minute so I'll ramble on. Yes there's poverty and yes it's dirty - they have no concept of litter here, but it seems a content society with little materialism and all the bad aspects of commercial peer pressure. However, I don't think you want to be disabled or an elderly widow here as they are really quite cast out. The endless mottos & traffic regulations are also totally disregarded but you can get Brook Bond, Bournvita, Cadburys anything, Horlicks and if you are so inclined Navy Cut and Gold Flake ciggies (in 10s of course). Also seen Polo Mints and Kit Kats.
