I am aware our blog may already seem dull to any reader, country Victoria is very rugged and forested and I feel like we are repeating ourselves if I keep writing the same thing as our experiences bush camping and driving tracks in the area all seem the same when you put them to paper.
Suffice to say the journey since our last blog has been very tranquil and much of the same, in the coming weeks and months we are looking forward to visiting the bright lights of Melbourne and working on peoples properties and contributing to local communities, as well as seeing the Victoria's National Parks in the East.
So as things get more interesting hopefully the blog will as well.
In Ballarat we managed to catch up with friends traveling trough to Melbourne, it was nice to see Steve and Bec on there way to Asia, it certainly made a nice change having a pint of Guinness and chatting about life in Adelaide again. Ballarat is a lovely medium size city for Australia, steeped in history with interesting buildings and a vibrant culture to match we could imagine living here, probably as in Autumn it looks very much like the UK.
We have arrived in Ballan to do a house sit, a chance to freshen up, clean out the van make any repairs and alterations and sleep in a bed for a few weeks. We realise we probably need a new camp mattress and maybe a cooker and some chairs as ours have defiantly been well used now! I've also dropped the laptop off in Ballarat for repair so no photos this time sorry.
In the coming weeks using Ballan as our base I'll hope to post some pictures of our time in the area, maybe less writing until we have built up some interesting tales.
Living in a place you may normally just travel through will be a interesting change of pace, a different way to experience somewhere as a local, we're looking forward to it.
