England 1 - Portugal 3
Entry 177 of 218 | show all | print this entry |
Well we thought it was about time to put finger to keyboard to report in. As you are already probably aware, England are now out of the cup even though most of us felt that they wouldn´t make it. Due to our current geographical position we were also pretty gutted that Argentina were booted out yesterday also. Wayne and I have been following the games religously and yesterday we went in search of a local bar to watch the game (Arg v Germany) with the Argentinians whilst consuming food (no surprise there!) As we walked through the door we were met with ´¨Are you German?¨- luckily I understood and put their minds at ease with Soy Inglesa. With that it was all laughs and banter, much of which I didn´t understand but laughed along and said ¨si¨about a hundred times, especially to the question ¨Do you like Argentina?¨ But it was a sad time when they lost, they are football crazy and on previous match days, with wins, we have celebrated with them in the squares. They do litterally go crazy, hanging out of windows, cars, taxis etc. singing shouting, but all in a jovial way. Tomorrow we are going to become real Gaucho cowboys. Wayne and I have signed up for a 2 day and 2 night excursion. On the first night we will camp in the mountains and on the 2nd day we will stay in the Finca with the family, so we will update you on our return, no doubt you will see us sporting the latest gaucho outfits once we have become real cowboys. We are leaving Argentina and are off to Bolivia on the 5th so expecting a major difference from Argentina, will report back. T & W x
