Travel blurb of hike up to the Jungle Club at 22:00hrs carrying our packs weighing in at 45kg total. After being advised not to venture up to the resort by the hotel desk at Koh Samui airport (see attached picture of Carlsburg International) because it was dark and access up to the resort is normally left to the power of the Land Rover (due to the steep uneven terrain), Pidgeandpie got a taxi from the airport to the main road at the bottom of the mountain, loaded themselves up and switched on their Petzel head lamp to tackle the supposedly 15min hike. At 23:00hrs we arrived after getting lost in the jungle a few times (well it was dark and the trail was very rough, with options to go left here or right there), but we had made it and enjoyed a cool beer to refresh our souls. The hike had been so steep in places that we would have to walk on our tip toes in order to remain upright. Tilly did lose-it at one point not knowing if we would make it and becoming more and more exhausted, however after shaking her to get a hold of herself and "get your shit together soldier!!!!!" she soon gained a second wind and we arrived to a sleepy Jungle Club retreat, welcomed by surprised guests and staff that we had just walked up the trail reserved for the 4x4 due to its steepness!
We enjoyed a few days on the island of Koh Samui in our mountain retreat away from the hustle-n-bustle of Cheweng. Swimming in the infinity pool or relaxing in the restaurant. We hired a motorcycle for a few days to see more of the island as we travelled around the road that circle its fringes.
